Temporary mesh gate, double-leaf (small)

The temporary mesh double-leaf gate, 4400 mm wide, is the standard vehicle access in a fence built from mesh panels.

A clear opening of 4400 × 2000 mm handles delivery traffic and most plant on a typical site. The mesh structure weighs markedly less than its solid counterpart, so the leaves swing more easily and the posts carry a smaller load.

Seeing through the gate is an advantage

A mesh leaf lets the driver see the yard before entering, and lets people in the yard see the approaching vehicle. With a solid gate both parties move into a blind spot and must rely on signals or a banksman. That is a real difference in entrance safety, not a matter of convenience.

Wind passes through, but the leaf still works

Mesh lets air through, so a mesh gate takes gusts better than a solid one. That advantage disappears the moment debris netting or a banner goes on the leaf — the load returns to solid-gate levels while the structure is lighter. If you clad the leaf, strengthen the post anchoring.
