Solid Temporary Wicket Gate

The temporary solid wicket gate, 1400 mm wide, gives pedestrians their own entrance to the site, separate from the vehicle gate.

A clear opening of 1400 × 2000 mm is enough to pass freely with tools and small materials, and for two people to pass each other in the doorway. Solid sheet keeps the hoarding's screen continuous, just as the gate does.

Why pedestrians need their own entrance

Where there is no wicket gate, people use the vehicle gate — and that gate opens for vehicles. This is the commonest accident pattern at site entrances: a pedestrian walks through the open leaf just as a driver manoeuvres with restricted visibility. A separate entrance separates those two flows physically, not merely in a method statement.

Where to place the wicket gate

Site the wicket gate clear of the vehicle manoeuvring path and so that anyone leaving can see the yard before stepping onto the internal road. Putting it immediately beside the gate is convenient only in appearance — pedestrians and vehicles still meet at the same point.
