Safety Barrier Aries

The Aries safety barrier absorbs an impact of 37,000 J and is the default choice wherever loaded forklifts move through a warehouse.

The structure consists of a post 1200 mm high and 200 mm in diameter, with rails up to 2000 mm long in two diameters: 110 and 140 mm. Everything is made from Hard-flexx® polymer and anchored to the floor with M15 concrete bolts. The RAL 1021 colour is warning yellow, legible even under poor warehouse lighting.

Why polymer rather than steel

A steel barrier deforms permanently on impact and transfers the whole of the energy into the anchors and the floor slab. The result is not only a replaced barrier but often torn-out anchors and damaged concrete — a repair that takes the zone out of service. Hard-flexx® flexes and returns to shape, so after a typical forklift strike the installation stays in place and continues to protect.

How to choose the absorption rating

37,000 J refers to an impact at 90 degrees. In practice, selection starts from the mass of the heaviest truck in service and the real speed in that zone — not the permitted speed. Where counterbalance trucks run fully loaded, consider the Aries 2800 variant rated at 52,000 J. For lighter traffic, Gemini at 21,000 J is enough.

The barrier holds SGS and ISO 9001 certificates. For protection meant to act perhaps once in several years, manufacturing consistency counts for more than a headline peak figure — because what protects you is the barrier that happens to stand at the point of impact.
