Protects Racking Uprights

The Forklift Impact Barrier is designed to safeguard the feet of racking uprights from potential damage caused by forklifts. By absorbing impacts, it helps maintain the structural integrity and stability of the racking system, preventing costly repairs and ensuring safe operation in busy warehouse environments.

Available Diameters

This impact barrier is offered in three different diameters: 60.3 mm, 76.1 mm, and 114.3 mm. Selecting the appropriate size ensures optimal fitting and effectiveness when placed in front of racking uprights, providing enhanced protection tailored to specific warehouse configurations.

Given the wide range of production options, the technical data quoted is indicative.

Forklift impact barriers protect the feet of racking uprights — the component whose damage threatens the stability of a whole loaded run.

Available diameters are 60.3, 76.1 and 114.3 mm. The barrier is placed in front of the racking upright, on the side the truck approaches from, so that it takes the strike instead of the load-bearing column.

Why the upright foot is so vulnerable

High-bay racking carries load from its full height down into narrow upright feet. A dent or a bend in the foot changes the column geometry and reduces its capacity — under full load the consequence can be loss of stability across the run. That is why damaged uprights require technical assessment rather than simple repair.

  • upright feet in working aisles
  • racking runs alongside transport routes
  • high-turnover receiving and dispatch zones
  • warehouses served by counterbalance trucks

Matching diameter to aisle traffic

60.3 mm is enough with pallet trucks and low speeds. 76.1 mm is the usual choice for counterbalance trucks. 114.3 mm is used in high-intensity aisles and where storage height makes the consequences of damage particularly severe.

A barrier does not replace racking inspection

Protection reduces the number of impacts but does not eliminate them. Racking is subject to regular technical inspection — the barrier's job is to make that inspection end in a note rather than in replacing an upright.

Fit the barrier with a gap from the upright foot. Set hard against it, it passes the impact straight into the component it is meant to protect.
